Materials

VisiJet PXL

Composite material VisiJet PXL - is a powder based gypsum. It is possible to 3D-print a model with a wall thickness of 1mm and with smallest possible object of 0.1mm .

This material is non-toxic, ideal for presentation purposes, suitable for printing functional models (with moving parts) and static layout with the geometry of any complexity, variety of art objects and furnishings.

ABS

ABS plastic - one of the most ubiquitous forms of plastic in the world as well as in 3D printing, this type of plastic is quite durable, the final product has a smooth surface, non-toxic and odorless. ABS is easy to post-processing, it can be cuted, drilled, glued, sanded and painted.

One of the benefits that can be noted is an impact resistance, moisture resistance and smoothness of the final product, especially when using acetone vapor during postprocessing, ABS plastic does not decompose when exposed to UV rays.

Disadvantages of ABS plastic include heat seal (not all extruders support this print mode), ABS plastic is not elastic and therefore has a low flexural strength in comparison with PLA. ABS has a high shrinkage factor, which makes it difficult to create solid models.

PLA

PLA plastic - is a biodegradable and biocompatible thermoplastic. This type of plastic widely used in 3D-printing due to its flexibility and nice glossy surface, it is easier to print, as it is better holds the load and doesn't vapors and smells while printing.

The advantages include good flexibility, biocompatibility and safety of the final product, as well as ease of use in printing.

The main disadvantages of ABS plastic -  is a low impact strength, more complex post-processing and degradability of the material that occurs in the next 3-5 years, PLA should not be exposed to UV-light.

PMMA

PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) - a synthetic polymer of methyl methacrylate, thermoplastic transparent plastic (other names - Plexiglas, acrylic glass, acrylic, complex). This type of plastic used to create accurate architectural models, as well as blanks for investment casting models. Models obtained are in monochrome sand color, but they can be painted in any color, immediately after printing models are treated with special infiltration depending on the destination.
